The stop valve is a type of valve, also known as a gate valve. Its main function is to control the flow of various types of fluids such as water, air, steam, mud, oil and various corrosive media. It is one of the most widely used valves.

Advantages of stop valve:

1. The friction of the sealing surface during opening and closing is smaller than that of the gate valve, and it is wear-resistant.

2. The opening height is small.

3. Usually there is only one sealing surface, the manufacturing process is good, and it is easy to maintain.

Stop valves are more commonly used, but due to the large opening and closing torque and long structural length, the general nominal diameter is limited to DN≤200mm. The fluid resistance loss of the stop valve is large. Therefore, it limits the wider use of stop valves.

There are many types of Sanitary Valve, which can be divided into the following categories according to their channel direction:

1. Straight-through stop valve

2. DC stop valve: In a DC or Y-shaped stop valve, the flow channel of the valve body is in an oblique line with the main flow channel, so the degree of damage to the flow state is smaller than that of a conventional stop valve, and the pressure loss through the valve is correspondingly smaller.

3. Angle stop valve: In an angle stop valve, the fluid only needs to change direction once, so that the pressure drop through this valve is smaller than that of a conventional stop valve.

4. Plunger stop valve: This type of stop valve is a variant of a conventional stop valve. In this valve, the valve disc and valve seat are usually designed based on the plunger principle.
